This was a very difficult drawing to make.
Not because of the picture, but because of the reason why I had to draw this.

About a year ago the girl on the drawing died of cancer. She was 27 years old.
This picture was made during her last vacation, were one of her dreams came true; swimming with dolphins.

Her family asked me if I could make a drawing of her, something special to remind her.
They gave me a picture, a very dark and blurry picture. And they asked me if it was possible to draw it, but then lighter than the picture was. Another thing was keeping the face of the girl blurry.

Al those things, together with the fact that I have known the girl. And I've seen her getting sicker and sicker, made it very hard to draw this. It took me over 4 months to finish this drawing, just because in first place I couldn't start drawing. I was afraid that I would fail, and than dissapoint her family.

Over four months later I finished the drawing. I was scared to give it to the family, so I asked my mother to do that.
I was scared for the reaction, and I wasn't able to look them in the eyes.

But after all there was no need for me to be afraid, they loved the drawing, and had to cry when they saw it.

Making this drawing was a very difficult thing to do, but I also learned a lot with it.
The girl on the drawing is still in my mind, and she will always be there

But I hope I can show you a better picture sooner.
